Dufwin Theater

Later known as the Roxie, at 517 17th in downtown Oakland. Some interesting comments here ("queen of the B triple bill in the seventies"), although the owners of this site seem to be complete asses (they have an Add A Photo! link, but if you follow it, you get a "we remodeling it, don't ask us to email you when it's ready". A) take down the goddamn link if you're not going to support it, and B) in a situation where you're relying on the good will of strangers to just give you photos that help build your site, you'd think you could make at least enough effort to maintain a list of people who are awaiting your revamped feature. I mean...Come on!!!!

Grill Shop

They don't serve burgers or ham & cheeses at this joint, the other kinda grills, dude! Oaktowns finest. This guy looks like he's in pain. Maybe he saw his bill.

Uptown

Besides the Paramount and the Fox, there are some other excellent examples of Art Deco architecture in the Oakland Uptown district. "For Lease" is the common theme. The earthquake of '89 nailed a lot of them.

Mussel Beach

Oaktown Style.

Pavillion

Notice the smog, already. It stopped raining about 5 minutes I think (or at least it seems that way.)
