The Fox Rox Again!

The Fox Theater in Uptown Oakland opened again last night after many many years of being dark. It was a Grand Opening Gala, I was only on the outside, but it was a blast!

There were politicos and the flashes of many camera

The Mayor was there

and fire eaters

Miss Art Deco was in attendance as well, with a sizable entourage. The renovation work just here on the outside it quite nice--the ticket booth is looking sharp.

No gala is complete without a man on stilts, playing the violin (it's in the rulebook)

These folks were reveling in the attention I'd say:

Congratulations to everyone who ever dreamed, fought, and or worked hard to make last night a reality! This is a great night for Oakland.

5out of 5

Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Optics, Strong Construction, Sharp Focus

Cons: Heavy

Best Uses: General Use, architectural, Landscape Photography, Travel

Describe Yourself: Hobbyist/Enthusiast

This is a beautiful lens, that produces sharp, artifact-free images. Carry it on your travels and amaze yourself as you fit the entirety of buildings, landscapes, statues in the frame. It's a little heavy, but with that weight you get the power of composing some amazing shots with the assurance that your images will be clear and sharp. I've had mine for over a year and have no regrets at all.

Chelsea Food Market

This building was originally a National Biscuit Company bakery, where, they say, the venerable Nabisco flagship Oreo was invented. These days it's a very nice upscale food arcade.
